The position will focus on the development of consumer-facing web
applications in a Java environment and will be specifically responsible for
front-end technical design and development. As such, the position will require
a high degree of expertise in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS,
JavaScript, Ajax, and Flash. Additionally this position will have technical
oversight responsibility for front-end development work done on our web sites
by outside vendors. Responsible for a highly traffic website where they a
consistently updating content, videos, blogs, etc.
Pluses: In addition to the required experience described above, a good
candidate should have extensive experience with Perl, XML and SQL, and have a
strong understanding of web 2.0 technologies. The development and production
environments are primarily based on Sun Solaris so a UNIX background is
helpful. Prefer candidates from heavy marketing or media websites.
Excellent communication skills are essential as the position requires a
team player who is able to work with and support our internal business clients
and who can understand user requirements, identify solutions, and articulate
them to business users and other developers
Rate: $50/hr, Job Type: Contract, Total Exp: 7, US Exp: 7, Start
