Duration: 12 Months Rate: $50/hr c-t-c Need RESUME by 11.20 AM CST Time Backup Refresh Resource Overview The Backup Tech Refresh (BTR) project works with all lines of business to plan and execute the firm's move from outdated backup environments with unacceptable operational profiles onto new backup platforms. Job Description The duties include, but are not limited to, insuring that every migrated server has its data protected prior to the move and to properly configure and monitor backups after the server is located at the new data center. Job Responsibilities · Communicate with project teams aiding in the design of a proper project plan to insure data integrity and safety. · Installation and configuration of all versions of the NetBackup client software on multiple OS platforms, which include but are not limited to Windows, Solaris, AIX, HP, and Linux. · Configure, monitor and remediate any pre-production backups. · Migrating data via tape through backups, imports and restores. · Work with OS support teams to resolve any O/S, hardware, or network based issues that may impact optimal performance of backup. · Work with DBA's to implement database API style backups · Coordinate with multiple other groups to configure specialized backups. (i.e. Control-M scheduled, SSO, BCV, etc. . .) · Documenting and reporting on every implementation. · Troubleshoot issues related to backup integrity. · Working with team to mentor and share new ideas. Qualifications · One or more years experience with Veritas NetBackup products · Knowledge of System Administration of Unix and/or Windows NT/2000/2003 platforms. · Experience with large data center backups · Experience with configuring database backups · Good network trouble shooting skills · Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to analyze documents and resolve problems. · Knowledge of SSO and BCV style backups · Veritas Certified Professional or any System Administration certification is a plus v Thanks & Regards Neil Kumar PRIMUS GLOBAL Services, Inc. | 1300 W.
