*Please reply back to [email protected] only.* Location: CT Duration: 6 mths The position is for a senior telephony/software engineer - an IP communication expert with strong knowledge of the SIP protocol. This engineer will be responsible for design, development, and support of the products which are IP based switching and trading devices. The position requires technology evaluation, new product definition, participation in systems design, and the execution of feasibility projects. This position is responsible for assuring that is maintains its leadership in the newest technologies, product ideas, and direction. This position assures that products are created in the most efficient manner using best practices in the industry. The position interfaces with customers, Sales Support, Product Management, and all Engineering development teams. * Education * * Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is required. * Masters Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is preferred. *Required Experience * * 7 to 10 years of experience in a structured engineering environment for the development of telephony features with emphasis on IP telephony and communication skills. * The position will be a senior software developer that will be responsible for technical team leadership and development and coaching other members of the development team in the aspects of IP telephony. * Strong design knowledge of proper software architecture. * Experience in SIP/Simple and IP and networking protocols and architectures. * Experience with SIP stacks (example: Radvision) * Experience in security, including security of networks, servers, and VoIP systems. * C, C++, database design, and object-oriented design. * Software Development in the structures environment using source control. (Subversion, ClearCase experience desirable) and following a software development life cycle. * Experience Responsibilities * * Development and delivery of customized SIP communications software. * Understand protocol specification functionality and application areas related to the assigned project. * Participate in the design, implementation and testing of IP-based services. * Technical leadership as necessary for projects. * Work with business partners (Cisco, Nortel, and Avaya) to define integrations between our systems. * * *Required Skills * * Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to all levels of the organization including Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing. * Ability to learn and apply new technologies. * Ability to work with and influence managers and technical groups to institute technology roadmap. * Individual must be extremely energetic and influence with a high level of conviction. * Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. * Outstanding problem solving skills. * Ability to support and track multiple simultaneous projects. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Experience with full life cycle systems development methodologies. * Direct experience with managing staff. * Ability to analyze and balance facts, priorities, resources, constraints and alternatives to make sound decisions and recommendations.
