Business Delivery Lead's primary goal is to contribute to the
production of quality product with the functionality required,
delivered on time. Provides strategic and tactical project leadership
to drive project progress to an aggressive schedule. Working to
initially develop requirements and functional specifications, the
Business Delivery Lead is expected to contribute significantly as a
health care subject matter expert. The Business Delivery Lead is
wholly responsible for the group’s schedule, implementation,
development testing, issue investigation and correction.
Key Responsibilities
* Leads and delegates design and implementation details into the
team for assigned feature and functionality
* Develops detailed work plans and schedules and is accountable
for monitoring and reporting on project metrics, issues, risks and
overall progress.
* Identify, communicate and report significant deviations in
quality, cost, or schedule.
* Gains a clear understanding of contribution of assigned tasks to
the overall team or project schedule.
* Provide implementation assistance and information about existing
implementations to peers.
* Maintaining and building core competency of business knowledge
and sharing it with colleagues to help drive the future direction of
your team.
* Collaboration with IT Delivery Lead(s) to produce high quality
whole products to better support successful production release.
* Demonstrate strong team work to foster effective team dynamics
and cohesive working environment; which include mentoring less
experienced colleagues
* Collaborate with peer teams to resolve design and implementation
details as they evolve
Required Skills/Experience
* 5 - 8 years healthcare industry experience with particular
emphasis on sales and underwriting
* Understands and can discuss healthcare trends and concepts in
detail
* Demonstrated strong leadership skills
* Minimum 5 years experience driving empowered work teams
* Proficient in formal project management methodologies
* Excellent understanding of risk management / mitigation
* High proficiency (expert-level) in the use of MS-Project
* Direct and frequent involvement with sponsor, business client,
and the IT division.
* Knowledge and experience of the Project Management Institute’s
standards and terminology.
* Requirements management and scope containment skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and conflict resolutions skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Experienced in developing and delivering presentations at
executive levels
* Work group and JAD facilitation experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
* Experience and knowledge of the small group market segment
* General understanding of industry standard system development
lifecycles
* Understanding of commercial software packages related to
insurance sales and underwriting
* Balanced skill-set which includes project management, health
insurance business, and information technology skills
Education/Certifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field required
* Masters degree preferred
* PMP certification preferred
