The Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America is exploring
the possibility of hiring an executive director. They've been
headquartered in the western suburbs and have operated with a support
staff of 1-2 people. They are a growing organization and feel that it's
time for them to have an executive staff. The organization focuses on
medical education, providing medical assistance to Pakistan, and
advocating for their community - recently, the AMA worked with them to
address how immigration restrictions are affecting patient care and
residency training.

Ethnicity and religion are probably not big factors in their search,
but anyone interested in the position would have to be very culturally
sensitive and would need to work very well with people - like other
ethnic organizations, their leaders are very hands-on.

I'm sending ! this note to people with contacts in the medical society,
non-profit and Asian-American communties in Chicago. I know their
organization and recognize that the job is not for everyone. If you
know someone who might be interested, please let me know - I'd like to
give them more info on the organization before passing their names on to
APPNA leaders.
