University Avenue Chicago, IL 60637 Phone: (773) 834-2581 Fax: (773) 834-2000 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Chicago Artist-in-Residence Fellowship The goal of the fellowship is to provide an outstanding Chicago artist whose work is relevant to the study of race or ethnicity with an opportunity to take advantage of the University of Chicago�s atmosphere of reflection, its libraries, and its research resources to develop her/his own work. The fellowship carries a stipend of $30,000, a research budget of $5000, and a programming budget of $5000. The fellow will be provided with office space and the use of a computer at the Center and full access to University libraries and other facilities. Awardees will be expected to be in residence at the Center at least three days per week during the academic year beginning at the start of the autumn quarter; teach a 10-week course related to race, ethnicity, and art or culture (one quarter); and organize a public program related to art, race or ethnicity, and the city of Chicago. She or he will also be expected to present work at one of the Reproduction of Race and Racial Ideologies Workshop meetings and to actively participate in the workshop and other activities sponsored by the Race Center.
