Needed:  International Medical Graduates from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh who are practicing in Illinois

The Illinois Department of Public Health is conducting a study on tuberculosis (TB) in the South Asian community in Illinois. TB remains an important health issue for South Asians in Illinois. Last year, the highest incidence of new TB cases in suburban Illinois were from the South Asian Community.

The Illinois Department of Public Health wants to improve the detection and treatment of TB in the South Asian community.

As part of this effort, we are conducting interviews with International Medical Graduates from South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh) who are currently practicing Internal Medicine/Pediatrics/ Family Practice in Illinois. The interviews will focus on how South Asian physicians perceive tuberculosis, and how they think TB can be addressed more successfully. South Asian physicians likely have important insight into this issue and the Public Health Department is interested in their perspective.

Interviews will be conducted by Namratha Kandula, MD, MPH, a physician researcher at the University of Chicago. All information will be kept strictly confidential and will be used to help the Public Health Department design an initiative to reduce TB in the South Asian community.

Please! help us by participating in these interviews.

If you are a South Asian IMG and are interested in being interviewed or would like more information, please contact:
