Role : *.NET - Development Manager / Project Manager *(Key Skills: - Hedge Funds, Equities, Fixed Income, Prime Brokerage, securities, Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Alternative Investments, Asset Management) Location : NY Duration : 6+ months A *Senior Software Development Manager / Project Manager* with experience in Finance industry to work with Seclending Front office, Operations users and IT to manage cross functional large scale projects. The nature of the task includes: - Hands-on Development Manager Role: o Line management of some resources onshore/offshore. o Matrix manage 20+ resources on a given project. o Hands-on - Project Manager Role: o Responsible for project delivery (management) on the Prime Services Global Securities Lending trading platform. o Work with client, sponsors and stakeholders for furthering Securities Lending business goals. o Manage projects to develop IT solutions. This includes prioritization with users, effort estimation, resource allocation, status reporting and SDLC management. o User training and hand off. - Production Manager Role: o Product line management for Securities Lending. o User support on business queries and issue tracking. § Gain an understanding of the Global Securities Lending business and supporting systems and be able to describe key business functions E2E. (Within 30 days of start). § Apply project management methodologies including project plans, risk mitigation, issue tracking and communication plans. § Establish effective working relationships and build partnerships with traders in London, NY and Asia. § Develop and deploy project communication plans, methods, and tools throughout the program, including executive steering committees. The candidate will need to translate business requirements into functional specifications that developers can work from. The candidate will be required work closely with the development teams in all regions throughout the lifecycle of projects to ensure that the requirements are being correctly interpreted. Adherence to the firms SDLC+ and GSDP project delivery processes will be required. Support trader queries and client Availability publication generation. Provide UAT support for projects managed / developed outside of New York that requires New York user sign off. § The candidate will have at least 5 years experience of financial applications and at least 3 as a Project Manager. § The candidate will have a good knowledge of the Securities Lending business. Additional experience in Prime Brokerage, Equity or Fixed Income business areas would be beneficial. § Project lifecycle experience: delivery on at least 2 large-scale, highly complex projects. § Track record of delivering high quality business requirement documents. § Business Analysis § Formal Project Management Methodology § Financial Markets knowledge § MS Project § Sharepoint § MS Office § Good interpersonal and communication skills § Planning and organisational skills § Ability to own problems through to resolution § Ability to work in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines. § Team player § Flexible and self motivated § Articulate and methodical § Experience with working with a global team. § Ideally, the successful candidate will also have had experience working in the Investment Banking arena.
