*Job Description for DOT EDMS Enterprise Consultant*

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is recruiting for an
Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) specialist. This position will
be a hands-on project leader who will work with each of the divisions within
WisDOT to identify the taxonomy, workflow, and priority that we need to
successfully implement EDMS at WisDOT. The identification of each of the
components will allow the consultant to develop an implementation roadmap
for the Department. (Taxonomy would include such things as grouping of
documents into categories, identification of relevant metadata of interest
in each document, identifying fields of metadata information that should be
indexed, folder structures, and so forth. Another applicable term would be
Information Architecture).
The requirements for a successful consultant will be successful experience
in the following areas:
1. EDMS Architectural background
2. Development of taxonomy for a diverse, large organization.
3. Development of an implementation road map for a diverse, large
organization.
4. Identification of work flow
5. Implementation of electronic workflow.
6. In depth knowledge of a large EDMS system such as IBM Content Manager,
Filenet or Documentum.
Additional experience in the following areas would be considered beneficial.
1. Experience as the information architect and administrator of an
electronic document management system
