*Role: Teradata DBA * *Duration: Long Term Contract* *Location: Norwalk, CT* *Rate: Hourly all inclusive* *Primary Skills: A "hands-on" 5+ years of experience on Teradata V12 / 13 as a Database Administrator (DBA)* *Required Skills:* Administering Teradata database using Teradata Manager, Teradata Administrator Skilled on performing BAR activities using Veritas NetBackup, TARA Teradata Explain, Stats Collection, Multi value Compression, Join indexes Performance tuning of Teradata SQL, TSET,TASM, DBQL, Utilities Data movement across different Teradata servers Capacity planning , allocating system storage and planning future projects On call DBA 7/24 support. Work closely with development and business team Performance monitoring Participate in design reviews and technology and tool selection, enforce a best practices for table/database creation, data skew, primary index selection. Work with Teradata professionals on ongoing issues etc Troubleshoot problems by checking sessions and error logs. Interacted with metadata to trouble shoot session related issues and performance issues. Tuning of ETL Load process.
