Systems Integration Engineer

Rate: Open but need to be competitive
*Technical Skills:*
· Mastery of software development life cycle and test process and
design skills
· Proficiency with defect tracking software
· Mastery of one or more testing tools such as WinRunner,
VistaRunner, Quality Center, etc
· Practical knowledge of one or more formal design languages such as
Java, C, C++,
· Practical knowledge of development environments, build systems and
configuration management tools, such as CVS
· Integration experience with embedded applications, preferably
related to the cable industry
· Ability to troubleshoot an issue, identify the root cause and
determine ownership of problems. Ability to validate issues written by
others.
· Ability to analyze integration points of the product and produce
functional tests for those points
· Ability to define overall approach and structure (test
architecture / design) for automated and/or black box testing
· Ability to clearly and concisely describe problems in both written
and oral forms
*Desired Skills:*
· Makes clear and concise oral presentations for internal and
external audiences
· Work with minimal supervision
· 2+ years prior experience in Systems Integration
· Proficiency with OCAP and cable technologies
· Experience writing SQL and other DBMS experience
· Experience in the implementation of automation frameworks
· Enthusiastically takes ownership of assigned tasks
· Proactively investigates and recommends improvements for
departmental procedures.
· Applies judgment effectively when solving problems and keeps
subjective information to a minimum
· Experience with agile development methodologies. SCRUM preferred.
· Fosters and reinforces open communication between team members
· Sets high standards in solving problems and shows advanced
thinking and new approaches to solving problems
· Demonstrates good organizational skills when working on projects
· Experience with set top box technology for digital TV.
· Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
· Must interface successfully with engineers and across functional
departments
*Education:* Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or
equivalent job related experience/knowledge as determined by management.
