Title :Business Objects Report developer
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Duration: 12 plus months
Working closely with the IM analysts, business subject matter experts,
business sponsors and other IM-IT (Information Management Information
Technology) teams, the Delivery Developer is responsible for the
development, testing and implementation of BI solutions that meet all
business requirements. This function also supports the IM Intake
function in developing prototypes for the business team and
customizing data sets to better support the delivery of business
requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Codes all BI reports and processes
• Designs, develops and tests system BI solution components
• In support of the IM Intake Function,
o Develops functional and visual prototypes with the business to
refine requirements
o Mentors business users in BI report navigation, interactions and
usage
o Builds prototypes and coordinates prototype reviews
o Participate in estimating task effort and duration
o Customizes tools and data sets for use by different types of data
consumers
• Assisting with designing and coding the functions of the application
under direction of the BI architect and project manager.
• Produces efficient error-free programs.
• Develops and conducts unit, integration, and system test plans.
• Assists in implementation of software.
• Monitors and improves performance of data warehouse analytical and
operational reporting environments.
• Prepare applicable system documentation
• Works with architects and/or technical leads to translate
requirements into technical specifications
• Develops and implements tools or applications for accessing and
analyzing data and metadata
• Participates in the refinement of dimensional models required to
support specific business user needs
• Participates in the development, training and support for business
users
• Assists in handling help desk activity in support of current BI
applications
• Accountable to meet the estimated hour estimates based on
assumptions and scope of the effort
• Stays abreast of technology, tools and opportunities and identifies
ways to incorporate new tools and ideas
• Creation, maintenance and review of Business Objects Universes.
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• BI developer in the Information Management / Business Intelligence
domain in the Financiall industry
• Experience in working with data models, experience in working with
data models
• Experience With Business Objects Report Development.
• Experience With Business Objects Universe Development.
Preferred Qualifications:
• some experience in developing Dashboards
• Ability to dialogue clearly and effectively with business, IT
stakeholders, testers, and developers to gain understanding and
resolution
• Ability to quickly work through opposing views and reach clarity of
understanding.
• Proven ability to document thoroughly
• Self-learner and ability to work independently.
