Job Description:
· Java (some Hibernate and J-Unit)
· HTML
· DB2
· OLTP (High Performance)
· Familiarity working with Terabytes of data
· SQL programming
· Design Docs
· Service Oriented Architecture
· Silverlight (nice to have)
· Screen Flows (nice to have)
The client is looking for 2 senior level programmers to support a team
of 4 onshore and 12 offshore. The efforts will be focused on an
internal tool called MDM (Master Data Management) which holds all CPG
research information in the raw form. This team is responsible for
manipulating and managing the data so it can be pushed to the UI team
who presents the data in "client ready" form. The top three aspects
of this position will be 1) Java 2) knowledge of database and database
manipulation 3) Service Oriented Architecture. In terms of soft
skills and level of performance they need someone to jump in on day
one with little guidance (hence senior level). They run an Agile
methodology and hold Scrum meetings every morning to read and review
requirements presented by BA's and the Operations team dealing with
clients. The ideal candidate will take his/her requirements and begin
the design and coding to present data in ideal formats.
Notes:
The client does not want "just another Java developer" he is looking
for a standout candidate who can make him look good. This is the
first time they have EVER brought in contractors since outsourcing
development 5+ years ago so this manager is really banking on us to
deliver. The candidates will be screened by the Manager and then will
interview in-person with the team lead for final approval.
