Job Description:
This project involves working for the Office of the
Commissioner of Insurance to modernize several key business systems
with newer technology and features. The core technology being used is
Java, Spring, Hibernate, Tiles, Oracle, and Tomcat. All of the posted
positions require a strong technical background as well as excellent
communication and organizational skills. One position will require
more business analysis skills including gathering requirements,
documenting use cases in Enterprise Architect, and coordinating user
acceptance testing. The other positions will spend more time on the
technical architecture and developing common technical services such
as security, messaging, etc. The entire project is expected to be
completed in about 3.5 years.
Responsibilities:
Develop and test business applications using the following
technologies: Java, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle, Tomcat, Tiles, Maven,
Selenium, Subversion, JSP, Ajax, JavaScript, Hudson, UML, and
Enterprise Architect. Develop applications using continuous
integration and test-driven development practices. Produce Javadoc and
other technical documentation as required. Follow and promote best
practices and current application design and development standards.
Take initiative to research and learn new technologies.
Work as a team member on a project team, understanding how a team
operates and what is expected of the various roles on the project.
Work with business customers to gather requirements and document use
cases in Enterprise Architect as well as coordinate user acceptance
testing (one position only). Develop common technical services used
across all business applications (one position only).
Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of Java and object-oriented design. Expert
knowledge of relational databases, Oracle preferred. Expert knowledge
of JSP*s. Strong knowledge of the Spring Framework, mostly Spring MVC,
but also Security, WebFlow, and Batch. Strong knowledge of Hibernate.
Strong knowledge of Eclipse. Excellent organization, analytical, and
communication skills. Ability to lead and provide direction to others.

2+ Yrs in Eclipse integrated development Environment (IDE)
4+ Yrs in Object oriented design with UML
4+ Yrs in Java
2+ Yrs in Experience using Java Hibernate Framework
2+ Yrs in Experience using Java Spring Framework
3+ Yrs in Requirements analysis
4+ Yrs in Java Server Pages (JSPs)
3+ Yrs in Ability to perform testing of applications facilitate
testing by others, document results and facilitate efforts to uncover
and fix issues found during testing.
1+ Yrs in Work group leadership
3+ Yrs in Excellent communication skills required. Ability to work
with users to understand and interpret their needs.
