Network Consultant.
*Responsibilities include:*
· Manage all aspects of the network services
· Provide expert knowledge in the design, implementation and build
out of Data Center and network
· Interact with Infrastructure Architects, Security Engineers, IRM
analysts, Monitoring and facilities team to ensure a successful deployment
of network devices into the DC or remote site.
· Participate in change control process created by the CAB (Change
Approval Board) to ensure all network changes have the proper oversight and
approvals
· Follow the company’s incident and service request system to ensure
network tickets are being addressed to meet SLA
· Ensure operational documentation are in place, kept up to date and
standards are followed
· Work with Health Care Company IT and Health Care Company network
team to ensure proper tools are being used for network requests.
· Handle all network related operational request as it pertains to i3
· LAN/WAN installation, configuration, testing and maintenance across
multiple locations
· Work with Security team to develop networking security policy
documentation
· Work within the ITIL framework when creating procedures and
providing service.
· Maintain and administer network infrastructure standards,
documentation and fault tolerance
· Support and configure all network Switches, Routers, Firewalls,
VPN, DNS, Load balancers and Optimization appliances for the i3 business
· Support includes the migration, update and changes to new software
and devices in the future to meet initiatives.
· Support of monitoring technologies used to alert on the data center
infrastructure and servers/applications hosted in the data center and remote
sites.
· Some after hour support work will be required for the
implementation of upgrades into the live environment and problem resolution.
· Participate in on call rotation
*Required Qualifications:*
· 5 – 7 years of network engineering experience in a *large, complex
enterprise environment (1000+ servers / 10,000+ employees)*
· In-depth knowledge of routing protocols, physical and logical
networking
· Experience configuring, and troubleshooting MPLS links
· Must be able to *design a project and implement* with proper build
documentation after the fact
· Expertise in documenting logical and physical network design
· Experience utilizing network management hardware/software. (i.e.,
protocol analysis)
· Working knowledge of the OSI model and Internet and Intranet
protocols.
· Knowledge of current security tools available *Firewalls
(CheckPoint, Cisco ASA & Linux)* IDS, DLP, VPN.
· Strong knowledge of *F5 Load balancers* LTM and Cisco Network
Switches, Routers, Wireless APs
· *Cisco IOS and NX-OS environment*, router and switch hardware and
common networking protocols/technologies Ethernet, TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP, VOIP
etc.
· Internet and IP with an understanding of *SMTP, SNMP, Active
Directory*.
· Experience Designing and/or supporting client VPN, DNS DHCP, Proxy
servers, IDS/IPS
*Desired Qualifications:*
· *Cisco CCNP, CCDP and / or CCNA strongly desired*
· *Microsoft Certified Engineer (MSCE) a plus*
· Business security practices and procedures
· A technical professional that works well in a team environment
· Managerial skills a plus
· Systems Administration of network environments
· Technical Writing experience or strong documentation skills
· Network engineering experience in a highly regulated environment
· Network engineering experience in a large enterprise healthcare
environment
· *Understanding of HIPPA regulations*
