Description:
This is an Application/Network based position, involving source code
management, changing legacy code to bring it up to date with modern
technology. What are the most important, specific duties of this position?
Uses Software Engineering experience and education to: 1) Define and/or
clarify Requirements 2) Design and Document Functionality 3) Work with
Senior Engineers to define technical direction 4) Implement functionality
in C and C++ as directed 5) Resolve Defects in a systematic, persistent and
thorough manner 6) Make direct technical contributions to the development,
maintenance and testing of network software. Position Specific Duties -
Work with software development team leads and support senior systems
engineers in implementing and testing modifications and extensions to
network software and related components. - The candidate will be required
to implement and test modifications while interacting with team members and
Senior Staff Engineers. - Direct technical contribution through product
modification, extension and defect resolution - Teamwork and communication
with cross disciplinary team members to quickly and effectively diagnose
and solve system defects - Develop understanding of GPS Concepts and
Fundamentals through directed work assignments
Requirements:
LOOKING FOR application/network developers with Linux experience, less
embedded developers. Some of the keywords we’re looking for include: linux,
TCP/IP, C++, GNU, svn or subversion, and ssh, java, python, ruby, and perl.
RequiredSkills, Knowledge, & Relevant Work Experience: Must be familiar
with socket programming, subscripting lanquage such as Perl, Python or SQL.
Must have experience with source code management to update/merge code. Must
have refactoring knowledge (add code to existing, without 'breaking'). Must
have at least 5 years professional experience programming C/C++ language
software, preferably with network software. - Must have at least 5 years
professional experience in writing and executing software test plans - Must
have experience developing software using Linux/Unix. - Must have
experience TPC/IP Socket code. Must have experience using source code
control package in a team environment in the normal course of development
cycles. May have CMM/CMMi experience or knowledge-May have PHP/HTML
experience. LAMP Must have experience using a Source Code Control Package
in a team environment in the normal course of development cycles - May have
CMM/CMMi experience or knowledge - May have PHP/HTML experience Education
Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Science, Computer Engineering. Will relax education requirement if
candidate has all required skill-sets
