- Use virtualization where it makes sense
- Moving towards Linux platform for the DBs
- DB are Oracle 10g and 11g
- ASM (Automatic Storage Management) – Handling raw devises
- Oracle RAC (Real Application Cluster)
*Typical Activities*
- Work in the offshore: Patching, standards in place on the
servers, making sure data group name are consistent for ASM instances
- Work at onshore - performance tuning - especially in the DW
system - work closely with BA and Developers
*Service Levels*
- No SL for Patching - based on availability of system
- No SL for performance tuning - just get it done in a reasonable
time
