*Description:*
Client is seeking energetic and talented developer to deliver innovative
customer facing solutions for several eCommerce initiatives. Client is for
a Ruby Developer for the development and design of web components and
services to introduce new capabilities and services for our online
customers on a highly scalable eCommerce platform.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *
· Design & Develop eCommerce solutions using Ruby on Rails & JRuby.
· Drive innovation and new ideas throughout the delivery teams
· Communicate gaps in business and technical functionality and
assess impact to timelines
· Analysis of business requirements and subsequent creation of high
level technical design documents and technical specifications
· Test driven application development, as well as execution of
implementation activities
· Analysis and identification of technical areas of improvement
within existing web applications
· Work in an Agile environment with other teams such as
Infrastructure, Architecture and Database teams

*Skills:*
• Design & Develop eCommerce solutions using Ruby, Ruby On Rails,
JavaScript, JQuery, nginx, memcached and other ruby technologies.
• Java experience is not required but a big plus.
• Experience including analysis, design, coding and implementation of
large-scale Java object oriented applications.
• Strong knowledge on OO design including extensive design patterns &
their applicability.
• Exposure to Agile Methodologies such as Extreme Programming (XP) and
Scrum.
• Ability to mentor junior developers & enforce good development
practices like encapsulation, composition, continuous integration & test
driven development.
• Be aware of activity in the open source world. Contributing back to
open source is a big plus.
• Unix/Linux: Knowledge of basic commands and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and build tools like
Eclipse, Maven, Hudson, Ant etc.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Working Experience in MySql and SQL.
