Title: *Oracle DBA*
Location: Walnut Creek, CA
Duration: 20+ Months Contract
*Description:*
· Plan, coordinate, and administer database systems, including data
base definition, structure, documentation, requirements, operational
guidelines and protection.
· Develop data models and perform planning of architecture,
functions, modules, recovery, standards and implementation.
· Work with cross functional teams to develop high availability,
highly scalable and maintainable database architectures.
· Excellent troubleshooting skills to lead outages related to
outages related to database locks.
· Tests designed applications; Analyzes and determines information
needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, data flow and
storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities.
· Research and evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions for
business issues.
· Create ad-hoc reports utilizing various data sources.
· Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies.
· Participates in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing
performance and providing increased functionality.
· Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical
discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training,
or work experience.
· Requires 2-5 years of related experience in the design,
maintenance, and administration of relational databases.
· Minimum of 5 years experience with developing software at the
data layer in a Oracle Databse environment using multi-threaded Java
containers.
· Software development skills in object oriented programming
including Java in JBoss, Weblogic and Apache Commons using DB pool
preferred.
· Oracle Enterprise DB RAC database administration experience,
experience with mission critical applications preferred.
· In-depth knowledge of Oracle DB Server performance tuning, backup
and recovery methods.
· Excellent Golden Gate implementation experience to synchronize
geo-redundant services and database recovery with Golden Gate.
