*Job Description*

The present role of Sector Program Manager will be part to of HCL team
providing services to a global Investment Banking IT division which has 4
Sectors and each Sector has 2 or more Clusters. Each Sector is managed by a
Sector Program Manager and each Cluster by a Cluster Project Manager. The
Sector Program Manager is execution focused leadership role, responsible
for the service delivery and stakeholder management in the CTB and L3 (bug
fixes, and minor enhancements) functions in a given Sector consisting of 4
Clusters (set of complex & big applications).



*Business / Domain Area *

·         Primarily Front Office and Middle Office systems handling trade
capture and trade processing.

·         Asset Classes include Loans, Interest Rate Derivatives, Bonds,
Credit Default Swaps, Credit Default Swaptions and Mortgage-backed
Securities (MBS).

·         The position requires understanding of the business environment
which these applications serve, and the expectations of stakeholders in
that context – e.g., even a small downtime in a trading application can
mean serious financial and reputational loss, since it can keep the bank
out of the market during moments of significant price movements.



*Responsibilities of the Sector Program Manager *

This role will be responsible and accountable for key stakeholder
management and smooth delivery of Book of Work (BOW) in all the 4 Clusters
and provide guidance to Cluster Project Managers. The Sector Program
Manager will be managing 4 Clusters with 2-3 Cluster Project Managers who
in turn will be managing 1 or 2 Clusters. Basic understanding of the above
domain areas (from the business stakeholder interaction perspective) is
essential and proficiency in one or more of the above domain areas will be
an added advantage.



*Key Responsibility Area 1: Stakeholder Management *

·         Responsible & accountable for Program stakeholder management –
Customer’s business partners, IT Managers in  CTB & RTB and Senior
Executives (CIOs and next level executives).

·         Responsible for business partners engagement from perspective of
planning, scoping, budgeting, risk management, MIS reporting and
governance.

·         Seek regular feedback from business users on likely business
volume changes, and application development teams on capacity for any
regulatory, compliance or enhancements




*Key Responsibility Area 2: ProgramManagement *

·         Responsible & accountable for Sector level integrated annual
release plan, ongoing changes and book of work (BOW).

·         Develops and maintains an integrated annual and release
schedules, revises and updates  as and when required

·         Responsible for work prioritization in consultation with business
& IT partners, work allocation, and report the status of work progress to
key stakeholders.

·         Demand Management in the CTB & L3 Portfolios





*Key Responsibility Area 3: Governance & Risk Management *

·         Responsible & accountable for Program plans, Resource plans,
Governance and Risk Management.

·         Responsible & accountable (represent HCL) for period review
meetings (Weekly & Monthly) with Customer key stakeholders.

·         Responsible for compliance with UBS policies, practices and
regulations.

·         Responsible for representing the Cluster in relevant committees
and forums

·         Responsible for ensuring compliance with IT Security and other
standards and best practices

·         Responsible for maintaining data, facts and figures pertaining to
the L3/CTB team's activities for the applications under HCL span of
control,  in order to support various audit requirements



*Key Responsibility Area 4: Tem Management *

·         Responsible & accountable for Cluster Project Manager’s work and
their deliverables.

·         Provide guidance and help to his/her team in project management
and stakeholders’ management.



*Candidate Profile *

The ideal candidate should have at least 18-20 years of experience in large
scape program management with at least 5 years of that in a technology /
project leadership and business stakeholder management role - in an
Investment Banking or similarly challenging environment, preferably
handling front office technology.



*Specific
Competencies
*

1.     Out of 18 to 20 years, in the last 5 years, the candidate should
have:

a.     Worked in an Investment Banking or Trading, or similar high-pressure
& complex environments playing a similar role             (this is MUST.
Others please do not apply / pursue)

b.    Extensively performed client-interfacing roles ranging from
operational (day to day work prioritization) to tactical (scoping and
planning for releases)

c.     Large scale Program Management Skills – scope, time, resource,
integration, risk, communication, stakeholders, and quality management

d.    Worked with a geographically distributed cross-cultural teams and
stakeholders.

e.     Should have basic understanding of business / domain knowledge,
technology, systems and software testing experience.

2.     MUST haveexcellent communication, strategizing and stakeholder
management skills

3.     Should have knowledge and experience of best practices in software
delivery, particularly in the Agile methodology

4.     Other requirements (nice to have)

·         Willing to travel to London, UK / Stamford, US once in a quarter
(only on need basis)

·         Travel to India to understand offshore ways of working (optional)

·         Flexible working hours   (as and when required)

·         Willing to learn domain / business topics


5.     Selected candidate has to complete a stringent background
verification consisting of – Criminal, Credit, Identity, Address,
Education, work experience, and other checks (in all the countries that
they lived in the past 10 years).
