The Network Engineer is an information technology professional within the
Datacenter Transformation Center of Excellence who analyzes existing voice
and data networks, designs new or complementary solutions for transformed
environments, implements solutions, and troubleshoots any residual issues
after transformation.



These include Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Wireless
Local Area Network (WLAN/Wi-Fi) and Internet. The Network Analyst will not
regularly perform system administration tasks, but will instead concentrate
on high-level network related duties such as network architecture, network
design, choosing of network devices, lead troubleshooting activities for
outages and/or performance issues during transformation projects. The
Analyst will lead administrative resources in the implementation of the
prescribed design. The Analyst will review, analyze, and evaluate voice and
data networks and user needs. Identify and document requirements, define
scope and objectives, and identify system modifications needed to support
business requirements and initiatives in the transformed environment.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*

·         Work with customers on data center transformation activities to
confirm (and document accordingly) existing Voice and Data Networks,
LAN/WAN Topologies, develop Functional Specifications.

·         Independently manage all aspects related to Network Integration
projects.

·         Serve as liaison between the customer, Transition Team and the
Network Tower to communicate difficult concepts and processes. Work with
vendors and contractors to define detailed technical requirements

·         Participate in Application owner and Business User interviews to
identify system functions and network related dependencies

·         Execute Discovery activities to fully identify and document the
existing voice and data networks

·         Work with the Steady State Network team to develop and implement
the appropriate solution for successful transformation

·         Consult on complex business issues and design considerations

·         Responsible for the identification and documentation of system
requirements to enable the Technical Team to deliver the appropriate
solution for successful transformation

·         Participate in the development and execution of the user
acceptance test plans, as well as schedule testing

·         Create new documentation and processes as needed to help refine,
optimize, and/or to establish network functions and processes.

 Education and Experience:

·         Bachelors Degree in an Information Technology Discipline and 6 or
more years professional experience



*In depth expertise with Cisco routers and switches ***

*MUST possess 1 or more, of the following Cisco Certifications… ***

·         *CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate ***

·         *CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional ***

·         *CCIE - Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert ***

Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools

·         *In depth experience with distributed networks ***

*·         **In depth experience with Call Center voice networks*

·         *Significant Knowledge of web content load balancers, SSL certs,
and DNS ***

·         *Experience with copper and fiber cabling systems *



*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*

·         Must have strong ‘hands-on’ experience with LAN/WAN
administration

·         Must have proven experience with deep technical aspects of
enterprise network integration projects \

·         Must have experience with the design and implementation of an
Enterprise Network Architecture.

·         Must have proven experience with various LAN/WAN designs

·         Strong understanding of MPLS networks

·         Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal

·         Experience interviewing end users to gather requirements

·         Knowledge of the SDLC

·         Experience building reports



*Expert-level proficiency in the following: *

·         Network concepts including LAN/WAN architectures

·         Microsoft Visio

·         Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel)

·         Microsoft Project

·         Ability to demonstrate professionalism in all internal and

·         Ability to analyze situations and challenges in a systematic,
logical approach

·         Ability to analyze data points extracted by automated and manual
discovery processes
