*Key Responsibility:*

·         The enterprise architect is expected to be a revenue multiplier
for MphasiS, using their domain expertise and thought leadership in their
area of specialization. They are expected to provide thought leadership,
solution leadership and delivery oversight on all pre-sales work, IP
generation activities, projects & delivery and ongoing sustain activities
in their space

·         Accountability

·         Know the different technology enabled solutions and solution
patterns in use across the industry, and to hold an unbiased view of the
relative benefits and demerits of each

·         Know the drivers and decision points for an organization to
decide on a technology solution to be most appropriate to them

·         Articulate in technical and non-technical terms the various
solutions as most appropriate for the target audience

·         Participate in all pre-sales, RFP response and sales activities
in their domain

·         Help grow anchor accounts through engagement with IT and business
teams in the organization, identifying opportunities and helping win
business on the accounts

·         For large, enterprise level projects, continue as key solution
owner for the project, with accountability for the end to end solution,
across both business architect and technical architecture streams

·         For smaller projects in the domain, oversee the work of
architects to ensure quality and best practice solutions

·         From projects and presales activities, capture and keep current
reusable assets to accelerate sales activities and delivery activities

·         For areas within the architect’s domain where MphasiS currently
does not have a significant body of work, create reusable sales and
delivery assets to help MphasiS achieve sales and deliver consistently in
the space



*Job Description                *

·         Have a good understanding of industry wide frameworks in the IT
industry – J2EE, .Net, Mainframe, etc. Needs to be current at a high level
with macro developments in this space

·         Have a good understanding of enterprise level “commercial off the
shelf” products used in the domain, and be able to engage with vendors to
stay current with these platforms

·         Be able to manage architects and technical teams in areas where
the EA; and ensuring that all teams are working together to deliver complex
solutions

·         Personal generate white papers and position papers that can be
shared with customers show casing thought leadership in the space, with a
view to bringing in business in the domain

·         Work with sales teams to generate canned presentation material
that can be reused across multiple customers to show case thought
leadership in the domain

·         Work with sales teams to engage with customers or potential
customers in the domain to understand the customer’s current state, and to
be able to work with them to arrive at solutions that are appealing to the
customer

·         Evolve solutions that incorporate all MphasiS and HP resources to
meet all recognized business needs this includes:

·         Development and delivery across all modern technology platforms

·         HP hardware and software solutions

·         Technology hosting services

·         Infrastructure support services

·         Business process outsourcing

·         Vendor alliances for licensing



*Articulate the solution in documents, presentations and workshops with all
stakeholders – both on the customer side and internal to MphasiS or HP. The
EA is expected to be able to articulate all elements in the solution,
irrespective of whether they were originated by the EA, mandated by the
customer, or evolved jointly with alliance partners. Solution elements
include:*

·         Business architecture showing the customer current state and
future state

·         Overall functional architecture of the solution

·         Breakdown into technical components deliverable through different
platforms, or by different teams. Present “black box” contract frameworks
for each team so they can solution their parts independently, with the
guarantee that these components will fit accurately into the overall
solution

·         Aggregate technical components back into the overall enterprise
solution documentation

·         Develop deployment and data center operation views to show
physical realization of the solution

·         Work with business & IT stakeholders to capture operational
aspects of sustaining the solution

·         Be able to run in a variety of engagement models including:

·         Consultative, where we provide oversight of multiple vendors

·         Traditional SDLC

·         Agile

·         Mentoring and oversight of all team members involved in
constructing, delivering and sustaining solutions

·         Needs to be able work in onshore / offshore delivery model

·         Be able to continuously assess all aspects of the health of the
project, and be able to generate timely escalations where appropriate

·         Grow the practice through mentoring and training of resources
from within the organization. Where we face inorganic growth, this could be
supplemented by hiring from the market



*Personal Qualities          *

·         Excellent communicator, with the ability to engage with technical
or non-technical partners

·         Good listener, with the ability to ask structured questions to
complete their understanding of any functional or technical area

·         Strong team leader who can coordinate several experts in specific
technologies or business areas. Though acting as leader, must be
comfortable in deferring to experts where they know better

·         Good understanding of project delivery in onshore-offshore model,
and be able to communicate effectively to remote teams, including
knowledge, accountability, shared responsibilities, etc.

·         Willingness to follow a formal architecture process and deliver
to an agreed architecture format

·         Be able to work independently; but be willing to have all work
products go through peer review

·         Shares knowledge with others, without actively seeking something
in return



*Mandatory Technical Skills         *

·         Minimum 14+ years of experience in IT industry

·         Atleast 8+ years of experience in Architecting and designing
solutions with emphasis on Enterprise-wide solutions

·         Atleast 3+ years Experience in Life Science ( Pharma ) related IT
projects, specifically in Sales & Marketing IT areas (also known as
Commercial Operations IT)

·         Experience working in Global Model, Consulting and Implementation
assignments, Pre-sales & Solutioning work, Working with CxO/VP level
clients on business/IT transformation strategies, working with technology
and business alliance partners

·         Technology expertise preferred in areas such as SharePoint, SAP,
Integration technologies such as Tibco, CRM software such as Siebel/Veeva,
Portals and Content Management, etc.
