*Job Description:*
Looking for a candidate with 5+ years Linux System administration and
engineering experience including support of Linux/Unix servers.
Opportunity is in a dynamic infrastructure team responsible for a
datacenter located in Richmond VA supporting 168 servers.
Should be able to support NFS, DNS, Internet Mail, Shell Scripting, Samba,
Server Patching, Server installation and configuration of Kickstart or
Jumpstart processes.
*Knowledge and Skills *
The Linux/Unix Admin must demonstrate solid problem solving skills. Good
oral and written communication skills are a must. Planning, organizing,
accountability and initiative are all required skills. Candidate should
have desire to learn new skills quickly and is excited about technology and
its application to business problems.
5+ years Linux System administration and engineering experience with
following skills
• Working knowledge of complex web hosting configuration
components, including firewalls, load balancers, web and database servers.
Well versed in Apache web server. Experience with Java Application and IIS
.net web servers.
• Ability to deploy, support, and diagnose VMWare ESX issues for a
production environment. Can install ESX hosts and Vcenter servers.
• Ability to support and configure Nagios monitoring,
• Ability to compile opensource tools
• Experience with Solaris Operating systems and Solaris containers
• Experience with supporting storage devices. Experienced with
making changes to configuration of storage. Proficiency with fiber channel
switches and SANs as well as NFS/CIFS.
• Experience with supporting and installing backup systems.
• Experience supporting Oracle database servers.
*Education:*
The successful candidate will possess a four-year degree in Computer
Science, related discipline or the equivalent in education and work
experience.
