*Role***

We have an immediate opening of Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
consultant position in our Oracle DBA team. This position will focus on
providing Oracle DBA support to databases for mission critical applications
and will be based at our Pleasanton office. Consultant resources will work
to maintain, develop, and support ORACLE databases, meet outlined in the
goals established by IT Management, provide knowledge transfer and
mentorship to employees, and provide status reports and recommendations to
IT management.



Consultant will perform high-level professional services in support of
systems providing expert Data Base Administration services for ORACLE- ECF,
an enterprise business enterprise business system and other Oracle
databases as needed.  Services include, but are not limited to project
planning, systems development, systems design, systems maintenance,
helpdesk/user support, documenting system requirements and changes, and
Mentoring/Skills Enhancement to employees.



*Tasks ***

*The day to day tasks, responsibilities, and deliverables for ORACLE DBA
Consultant include, but are not limited to the following: *

·         Support of the Oracle database(DB), Oracle Application Server and
E-business Suite (AS) and their  entire lifecycle environments, including
daily operations, backup and  recovery, performance tuning and app code
pushes for mission critical applications in the company, encompassing ECF,
ECF Payments (E-Business Suite) , ECF related claims databases,  Oracle
Application servers and related Single Sign On (SSO)

·         Production support of ECF ORACLE database, ECF Payments and
related claims databases and Oracle Application Servers issues including
after hours on-call support.

·         Production support of non-ECF Oracle databases.

·         Work with Oracle Support to resolve issues on the DB, AS and
E-Business and Oracle tools used by the development teams.

·         Utilize Oracle Designer, Oracle Developer, Oracle APEX and other
tools to create, modify and deploy code changes.

·         Develop and implement ORACLE Stored Procedure verification tools
that assist developers in troubleshooting and performance improvement

·         Develop and implement procedures for the synchronization between
different environments.

·         Develop and implement proactive tools for ORACLE environments
(such as lock escalation report).

·         Provide advice/recommendations on Application architecture,
design and implementation.

·         Evaluate new products; develop procedures for installation and
maintenance of Oracle Databases, Application Server/LDAP, E-Business Suite
on Unix servers, and OEM Grid Control on Linux.

·         Assist development team in review/troubleshoot SQL and pl/sql ,

·         Provide training, documentation for knowledge transfer to other
DBA members, and communicate both to non-technical users and to technical
personnel on DBA team and Applications teams.

·         Assist Data Modelers to define database elements and develop
Entity-Relationship and Conceptual Data models, procedures, system
development life cycle, data requirements form and data change request
form.

·         Assure that design criteria and standards are documented fully
and accurately.

·         Provide Internet Web and Document Support.

·         Provide technical coverage for all ORACLE databases when the
primary DBA unavailable including after hours support on weekends.



*ORACLE DBA Consultant shall possess 7+ years technical knowledge and
experience with most of the following systems, platforms, applications
skills: ***

·         Experience with Oracle databases, Oracle Application server in
capacity planning, load balancing, performance tuning, high availability on
complex environments and mission critical applications.

·         Expert ORACLE DBA hands-on experiences and knowledge in
administrating and maintaining multi-Terabyte production database,
including partitions and data archiving, disk image backups and multi-sites
Disaster Recovery deployment and maintenance, and troubleshooting daily
operation issues.

·         Experience with SQL, PL/SQL and Perl programming.

·         Experience with Oracle Databases 10G and 11G on HP Cluster
servers, RMAN, Data Guard, ASM,  RAC, Oracle Application Servers 10G Rel2
and above, Oracle E-Business Suite   11.5.10.2 and above, Ldap/SSO, Fusion
11G and above, SSL and related Implementation.

·         Experience with installation, configuration, upgrade or migrating
above Oracle products to higher versions or/and different hardware and OS.

·         Proficiency in HP-Unix/Linux and Unix Shell scripting

·         Experience with providing end user support and customer service
management.

·         Good writing skills to provide documentation for DBA and other
teams.

·         Tracking, monitoring, and reporting database jobs and processes
using various software products

·         Communicate and prepare management reports to IT management and
end users

*The Consultant resource(s) shall possess most of the following skills: ***

·         Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze information
identify and formulate solutions to problems.

·         Provides more in-depth analysis with a high-level view of goals
and end deliverables.

·         Complete work within a reasonable time frame under the
supervision of a manager or team lead.

·         Plan and manage all aspects of the support function.

·         Extensive knowledge of and proven experience with data processing
systems, and methods of developing, testing and moving solutions to
implementation.

·         Strong knowledge in project management practices and ability to
document processes and procedures as needed.

·         Work collaboratively with other support team members and
independently on assigned tasks and deliverables with minimum supervision

·         Communicate effectively with users at all levels, from data entry
technicians up to senior management, verbally and in writing.

·         Self-motivated, working closely and actively communicating with
person to accomplish time critical tasks and deliverables

·         Ask questions and share information gained with other support
team members, recording and documenting this knowledge

·         Elicit and gather user requirements and/or problem description
information, and record this information accurately

·         Listen carefully and act upon user requirements

·         Convey and explain complex problems and solutions in an
understandable language to both technical and non-technical persons

·         Present technical solutions to management and decision makers

·         Follow the lead of others on assigned projects as well as take
the lead when deemed appropriate

·         Think creatively and critically, analyzing complex problems,
weighing multiple solutions, and carefully selecting solutions appropriate
to the business needs, project scope, and available resources

·         Take responsibility for the integrity of the solution
