*Project Manager - Data Center Migration*
*Location: Tukwila, Washington*
*Duration: 18 to 24 months*
*Interview: Will hire off of phone. Client has committed to interview on
the 30th and 2nd!*
*Key Responsibilities / Duties*:
- Oversee and manage large-scale data center migration over multiple
sites.
- Perform infrastructure discovery and application dependency analysis
- Determine business requirements, identify migration strategies,
negotiate schedules and provide on-going coordination
- Deep involvement in the design, planning and execution of migration
plan to migrate/decommission infrastructure without disruption to business
groups
- Conduct architecture reviews, capacity planning, work scheduling,
implementation planning and execution, post implementation planning and
execution
- Drive meetings with SMEs from all areas of the business including:
Architects and Leads to seek input from and review migration methodology,
resource requirements, timeline and constraints
- Track and report on all infrastructure scheduled for migration
- Host weekly status meetings with senior management, business and
technology teams
- Coordinate closely with Engineers, Network and Storage teams to ensure
successful execution of migrations on time with zero defects
*Work Experience: *
- Deep experience managing projects involving server consolidation and
infrastructure consolidations/moves
- Experienced leader, mentor and coach with proven ability to lead
multiple cross-functional teams to manage large, complex projects and
consistently complete them on time.
- Hands on experience designing and building new datacenters preferred
- Previous experience in Data Center
relocation/consolidation/divestiture required
- At least 10 years directly related work experience in the Information
Technology field is required
- At least 5 years of experience with datacenter rationalization,
consolidation, relocation or migration is preferred
*Skills Required:*
- Certified PMP with demonstrated success with specific focus on data
center migrations, consolidations, etc.
- Demonstrated holistic understanding of Datacenter Operations (i.e.
Production operations, Server, Storage, Network, Data Base Mgt., Systems
Mgt., Helpdesk, DR/Business recovery practices, etc.)
- Familiarity with functional operations of server, storage and network
functions
- Knowledge of server platform technologies
- Knowledge of facilities management (i.e. Power, HVAC, Hard Wire
Topologies, etc.)
- Ability to manage a project plan, track milestones and identify
dependencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to
interact efficiently with a large Project Management Office and Technical
Team
- Strong client facing and relationship building skills are required
*Formal Education: *
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar is preferred
- An MBA is a plus
*Certification Required: *
- PMP Certification
