*Job Title : Unix/Linux Engineer* *Location : Woodbury, NY*
*Duration : 8+ Months* Job Summary: · Seeking a Linux Systems Engineer for a long-term consulting contract. · Responsible for the support & administration of applications and server platforms used for the delivery of content/services. · Work closely with both software development teams and Q/A test teams on staging, installing and troubleshooting applications and application delivery systems. · As Systems Engineer, you'll analyze and troubleshoot potential flaws in the design of new technologies as well as develop methods of testing this technology prior to production deployment. Responsibilities: · Installation/configuration of front-end/back-end code builds (including but not limited to Java, Apache Tomcat, and Tibco) · Identify installation and code related defects · Perform System Integration-level testing (set-top boxes, applications, servers, network, etc.) · Prepare Test Summary Reports which include a detailed report on testing executed as well as defects identified and resolved · At all times must have a strict discipline on maintaining a QA locked down environment by working closely with the Configuration Management group · Responsible for knowledge transfer after project completion · Work closely with multiple development groups · Provide subject matter expertise for a variety of technical projects · Work with 3rd party vendors to integrate systems/applications and hardware for new product implementation · Work hands on with Unix/Linux servers, Oracle databases, load balancers, NAS, firewalls, etc. · Deployment and testing in our engineering labs of all applications which run on multiple Set-top boxes deployed in our production environment Required Skills: · Minimum 4-5 years of hands on Unix / Linux administration experience · Hands-on cable / video experience (Set-Top Box, DNCS, ITV, Video-on-Demand, etc.) · Hands-on application support experience · Extensive troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience · Experience with Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g a plus · Experienced in the use of network analysis tools · Ability to Manage the project, meet deadlines and perform under tight deadlines Excellent oral and written communication skills *Please send the resume to k...@alliedinformatics.com <k...@alliedinformatics.com> * Thanks & regards Moiz Khan Allied Informatics Inc. 1815 Satellite Blvd. Suite 302 Duluth, GA 30097 USA.
