Position: Quality Assurance Tester [QA Engineer]
Duration: 6 months with likely extensions through to the end of 2014

Location: Beaverton, OR, 97229(Locals Only)
We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our data modeling team. Currently
there is one QA engineer on this team, who will be transitioning into more
of a BSA role within the team. This will leave a gap for testing; thus
we need to add a new QA Engineer. This tester will need to do heavy data
mining and will be required to write test scripts from scratch. The Data
modeling team will provide the tester with a baseline for tests at a unit
level, but they will have to develop the formal test scripts themselves off
the specs and mappings given to them. This will be lots of manual testing,
and some automated testing. They will be doing end to end testing and
will need heavy SQL experience. Understanding of the Apparel Industry
would be helpful in querying and data mining (querying data related to how
many Med - XL omni-freeze shirts are currently in a table). They will be
using HP Quality Center for testing. Local candidates are ideal, but
non-local are willing to be considered (we'll interview via skype).
Here is the job description:
Responsibilities:
1. Create test plans and test scripts from technical specifications and
source-to-target mappings.
2. Develop, execute and maintain testing of new or modified
applications/systems.
3. Lead the preparation and execution of system integration,
functional, end-to-end, component, regression and acceptance testing of new
or modified applications/systems and report issues using defect tracking
tools.
4. Maintain/modify automated testing systems such as HPQC.
5. Communicate effectively with multiple IT disciplines and clients
to resolve questions during the testing process.
Qualifications/Must Haves:
1. Prior QA and/or programming background, 3 - 5 years.
2. Prior experience with SQL queries, 3 - 5 years.
3. Excellent analytical ability, consultative and communication
skills, and the ability to work effectively with Data Analysts, Data
Modelers, ELT developers and Business Analysts.
4. Extensive knowledge of design and testing tools (HP Quality Center
and SQL)
Desired (ideal candidate):
1. Knowledge of wholesale and/or retail business applications.
2. Experience with TeraData
3. Knowledge of SAP
4. Local
