*Job Title : SQL Database Administrator*
Location : *Columbia, SC*
*Duration : 6+ Months*
*Rate : $45/Hr on C2C All Inc Max....*
To Assist with Credit Delivery Replacement Projects.
Database Administrator Primary Function
Provides database administration services both in operational and
developmental arenas.
*Areas of Accountability*
Analysis and Design
Analysis of all manner of data and integration related problems and the
design of solutions for them. Broad areas involved are the areas of
accountability listed below. A very high level of skill is required due to
the importance of foundational business data and its manipulation.
*Database Administration*
Traditional operational database administration including setting up
database backup/recovery, monitoring, tuning, scripting of common tasks,
etc.
*Database Development*
Perform or assist in database design and implementation, including analysis
of data issues and table design, view design, stored procedure design, and
so on. Assist developers with SQL including critique and tuning of queries,
advice on use of SQL vis-à-vis table design, etc. Perform database
administration functions (as shown above) for database development
environments, including setting up of databases with particular data sets,
etc.
*Integration and Data Processing*
Design and implement job scheduler elements, including jobs, job plans,
events, schedules, calendars, etc. Design and implement supporting scripts
for production and development data processing jobs. Support production
systems and serve in on-call capacity.
*Administrative*
Time reporting and monthly status reports turned in on time. Maintain a
positive customer support attitude in all things.
*Requirements*
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or technical field, or extremely
strong work experience as a DBA
At least 3 years' experience as a DBA
Expert knowledge of SQL Server installation and configuration
Excellent knowledge of SQL
Excellent knowledge of relational database logical concepts
Excellent knowledge of relational database physical implementation concepts
Excellent skills in SQL Server performance tuning, at all stages, including
database and system design, physical database implementation, query
execution plans, etc.
Very good grasp of programming and software development concepts
Competency in some scripting language, preferably Perl
