*Job Description:*
As part of db2 LUW team, will be accountable for database administration,
design, build and tune mission critical DB2 UDB ESE and DPF environments.
Help DB2 LUW team in providing better technical solution.
*Roles and Responsibilities:*
- Create standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Implement new technology, and make it operational.
- Provide day-to-day support for db2 LUW
- Participate as part of 24x7 on call support on a rotation bases.
- Provide database administration for a variety of mission-critical custom
and packaged software applications.
- Design storage strategies around backup and recovery for complex database
environments, physical structures, and specialized database applications
- Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions
for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed databases
- Act as business liaison serving as primary point of contact between
application business segments and database administrators
- Administration of DB2 Distributed implementations, including database
definition, structure, documentation, and long-range requirements
- Provide standardization and consistency across environments
- Ensure a stable and secure database environment
- Implement and monitor database functionality to ensure stable
environments
*Required Skills*
- 6+ years of db2 LUW (linux, unix, windows) database administration
experience
- 3+ years of strong UNIX background
- 3+ years of scripting experience
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
* - Relevant Bachelors Degree such as Computer Science, Math,
Economics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or Statistics, or equivalent
experience
- 6+ years of Sr. DB2 LUW administrator with strong AIX/zLinux background
- Understand the systems development process and have a solid understanding
of business processes
- Proven analytic skills, strong judgment and works effectively with others
- Demonstrated diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication skills
Desired but not required:
- Professional experience in the healthcare industry is preferred
