Location – Framingham, MA
· Must have - Knowledge of using VectorCAST tool to develop unit
test and integration test cases
Description
This is *embedded software development*. It is *ROTS* that was picked per
our processer. We will be using *VectorCAST* tool to develop *unit test
and integration test cases*.
Most of the work will be working on PC in a simulated environment instead
of executing code on target environment. Basically we need sharp, logical
engineers to help us analyze existing code and *create/document test cases*
so that our code is protected.
*Position Summary:*
Senior Software Engineer to be responsible for development of new and
support of current electronic sub-systems of Ventricular Assist Systems.
Develop and apply engineering theories, methods and research techniques in
the investigation and solution of complex technical problems. With minimal
supervision, perform software engineering work of various complexities with
a high degree of technical competence. Participate in most Software
Engineering facets of developing new products and sustaining current
products.
*Essential Job Functions (listing most important first):*
· Planning and execution of embedded software aspects of new
product development and sustaining projects
· Exploration of design problems and application of new concepts
and approaches to the design and development of new or improved products.
· Participating in development of system architecture of new
designs.
· Consultation for and development of new designs with
consideration of system level aspects of products.
· Execution of independent technical investigations involving the
application of the software development principles for hardware interfaces,
motor control algorithms and communication protocols.
· Preparation and review of design input, design verification and
risk management documentation.
*Essential Job Requirements:*
EDUCATION
BS degree in Software, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, MS
degree preferred
*EXPERIENCE*
5 years minimum in embedded software design
Experience in medical devices preferred
*REQUIRED SKILLS*
· Competence in C,C++ or equivalent software languages
· Understanding of embedded microcontrollers, embedded PC systems
and real-time operating systems
· Knowledge of using *VectorCAST* tool to develop *unit test and
integration test cases*
· Excellent engineering laboratory skills and familiarity with
microcontroller debug and test tools
· Familiarity with software lifecycle processes and associated
standards and regulations
· Organizational and planning skills applicable to product
development
*PREFERRED SKILLS*
· Knowledge of motor control software design and development
· Understanding of Medical Products with complex integrated
hardware and software
· Understanding of electronics sufficient for test and debug of
embedded systems.
· Understanding of wireless communications protocols and
implementations.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
