- Act as a technical point of escalation for Operational Excellence
across all AWS Mobile services
- Mentor for junior staff, potentially growing this into a management
role.
- Drive service teams to systematize, simplify, and automate pretty much
everything you can to make the above items easy.
- Build operations and quality-related tools to simplify your life and
the lives of others.
- Monitor the health of the fleet, automating system health, maintenance
tasks, and reporting systems as needed
- Perform various system maintenance tasks (your hands get dirty here),
including configuration of new machines
- Manage directly assigned tasks and on-call duties gracefully
- Help drive problem management with our dependencies.
Qualifications
- BS degree or higher in EE, CE, CS, ME
- 6+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experienced in server hardware architecture and design for large scale
applications.
- Experienced in development of systems management and administration
automation in a high level scripting language (Python, Javascript, Bash)
- Linux knowledge
- Development of systems management and administration automation in a
high level scripting language (Perl, Python, Bash)
- Experience in a 24x7 production environment, esp. one based on Linux
- Excellent troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to
network to host
- Experience with performance testing and tuning
- Automation or monitoring framework experience, deployment or
development
- Experience deploying or managing servers in large-scale,
geographically diverse environments.
- Experience with AWS Services and their use.
