*Mid Level Oracle DBA Location: Pittsburgh, PADuration: 6-12+ Months $40/hr
on C2C *
This position will provide database administration in support of a
college’s academic and business systems. Duties include:
Installation, configuration and maintenance of databases
Logical and physical database design
Database performance monitoring, tuning, patching and troubleshooting
Database backup and recovery (experience with RMAN)
May act as technical lead on database and infrastructure related projects
Work closely with system administration and storage teams
Provide architectural recommendations to the IS team
Develop PL/SQL procedures to support business processes
Run scheduled jobs
Interest and ability in learning and applying new technologies and software
packages.
Knowledge of XML and data transfers
Qualifications
Minimum:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science,
Software Engineering or other related field or equivalent combination of
training and experience.
Experience: 3-4 years progressive experience in database administration
supporting 11g Oracle database systems.
Skills:
Thorough understanding of and ability to troubleshoot complex database,
infrastructure and performance problems
SQL and related programming skills
Proven ability to lead technical projects
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Effective oral and written communications skills.
Physical Mobility: Able to sit and work from a computer monitor for long
periods of time.
Environmental Conditions: usual office setting
Mental: Ability to work under pressure, pay attention to detail, meet
inflexible deadlines and deal with difficult individuals while maintaining
composure.
Other: Evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines
