Location: West Chester, PA
Duration : long term

Role & Responsibilities    •    Handled large database estates and managed
TB size of databases
•    Install, configure and administer the SQL Server enterprise of 2012,
2008 R2, 2008 and 2005 on Windows server
•    Install and configure database monitoring tools
•    Database refresh (Prod to Dev, QA)
•    Database auditing and compliance
•    Plan the instance upgrade, migration and patching
•    Define backup and restore strategy
•    Proactively analysis the performance and tuning recommendation
•    Implement and troubleshoot DTS packages
•    Experience in application DBA support and deployment activities
•    Design, setup and configure load balancing on clusters
•    SQL EM Metric design and configuration
•    Develop database re-usable components
•    Database disaster recovery (DR) strategy like mirroring / log shipping
/ replication configuration
•    Develop data purging, archival management methods and best practices
•    OS level activities related to database tasks and windows
administration
•    Coordinate and work with vendors for bug fixes and major incident
resolution
•    Primarily role is supporting the production and non-prod database
environments
•    Provide 24x7 and on call support for critical application databases

Skills    Must have    Nice to Have
Technical Skills (Core & Top-Up)    •    Strong installation and database
administration experience on 2012 / 2008 R2 and 2005
•    Strong experience on log shipping, mirroring and replication
•    Design and implement cluster high availability solution
(Active-Active/Active-Passive)
•    Configure, implement and troubleshoot DTS, SSIS and SSRS packages
•    performance tuning and troubleshooting experience
•    Powershell /DB scripting and automate routine tasks
•    Experience windows administration on database activities    •
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
•    Handled database estate of various technologies (Sybase, Oracle, MySQL
and UDB DB2)
Process & Tools    •    Service Request and Incident, Problem, Change
managements
•    Configuration, Capacity planning and Knowledge management
•    Experience on ITIL Tools like Remedy, Peregrine
•    Identify and implement the service improvement plan    •    ITIL
Foundation  certified
Behavioral Skill    •    Strong verbal and written communication skills
•    Team management and motivation
•    Flexibility, good attitude    •    Manage the global infrastructure
customer and projects
