Our client is looking for an experienced Senior AIX Engineer to support
operational and project demands. This position requires the ability to
manage complex server systems, operate at a lead level proficiency in
analysis, administration, and project management. Advise applications
development, project staff, and users on server hardware solutions to
business problems and the patching of server systems. Provide customer
production and developer support. Ensure that documentation is complete and
up-to-date. Assist in the mentoring and technical development of junior AIX
staff.
• Experience configuring and managing networking in AIX
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise applications running on AIX
• Manage and configure VIO client partitions
• Manage devices and storage
• Use HMC and SDMC to manage system resources
• Perform user administration tasks (such as limiting
resources, creating/using groups, etc).
• Strong knowledge of system backup and recovery
• Strong AIX installation and maintenance skills
• Configuring and managing system security
• Use NIM, WPAR Manager and Systems Director (base product)
• Understand PowerVM components such as AME, AMS, Shared
Processor Pools, etc.
• IBM Power 8 experience
• IBM AIX 7.x experience
*BASIC QUALIFICATIONS*
Bachelor’s degree and 5-plus years IBM AIX system administration experience
