They need to have developed complex reports from scratch and they need to
have exceptional communication skills as they’ll be interfacing with
business users. The job description is below, there’s a questionnaire on
there that the candidate needs to fill out.





*Current Situation*

We have a lot of demand for creating new and updating existing OBIEE BI
Publisher reports.



We need someone very experienced in developing OBIEE BIP reports.  Needs to
understand advanced and complex requirements and how to resolve (i.e. RTF
Templates, Excel Templates, Bursting, Hyperlinks in Reports, different
languages/locales).

*Some Challenges*

·         Limited staff for production support and future project work.

·         Some developers are only technical and cannot collaborate with
business users on requirements, design, and testing.

·         We lack a very experience OBIEE BIP developer that knows how to
develop complex scenarios (this leads to wasted time trying to figure out
the best option to develop).

·         We are global and need to develop OBIEE BIP reports in different
languages/locales (different number formats and different date formats).

·         We lack performance tuning skills to ensure OBIEE BIP reports not
only provide the correct data, but are fast as well.

·         Our current vendors do not have a great network of BIP experts to
ask questions if we run into a unique situation.

1.       How many OBIEE BIP reports did he/she complete over the previous
12 months?

used a pivot or crosstab output.

4.       How would you rate the candidate’s verbal communication – 1 to 10
(Would business users be able to understand him/her)?

5.       How would you rate the candidate’s written communication – 1 to 10
(Would business users be able to understand his/her emails)?

6.       Provide an example of when you developed an OBIEE BIP report that
used a trigger.

a.        What was your approach in developing and testing it?

b.       What was the feedback from the end users after deploying it into

7.       Provide an example of when you developed an OBIEE BIP report with
multi-languages, locale number formats and locale date formats?

8.       What experience does the candidate have with creating MD050’s and
MD070’s for OBIEE BIP reports?  What was his/her role with this process?

9.       In the candidate’s own words, define the process of Source System
Analysis.  Provide an example of when the candidate documented the Source
System Analysis for an OBIEE BIP report.

a.        What was your approach in developing and testing it?

10.    Provide an example of when the candidate had to performance tune SQL
being used on a poor performing OBIEE BIP report.

c.        How did you test it and ensure the report was running more
efficiently with the same results?

11.    How many Oracle Service Requests did you create, maintain and close
over the past 12 months?
