*Job Title: Manager, IT Engineers*

*Location: Detroit, MI*

*Job Summary:*

Responsible for one or more critical applications which supports LCE’s
business and operations. Provide deep expertise as a SME in multiple areas
of software development technology and act as a mentor to all technology
engineers.  This position will operate autonomously and have
decision-making authority.

*Key Responsibilities:*

1.     Responsible for one or more critical applications, including
architecture and technical quality, which supports LCE’s business and
operations.

2.     Keep abreast and ahead of technology changes and advancements and
how they impact these applications. Assist senior department leadership
with the development of a formal roadmap for each application.

3.     Oversee programming projects through to completion according to
project standards and user satisfaction.

Responsibilities include:

·         Responsible for the delivery and technical quality of small to
large projects.

·         Oversee multiple small to medium sized projects each with one or
more dedicated resources or oversee a single major project with multiple
resources and dependencies.

·         Perform task breakdowns, manage available resources, provide
guidance to project leadership and ensure the whole team succeeds. Projects
may support multiple departments and Ilitch-owned companies.

4.     Lead research efforts and proof-of-concepts of new technologies.
Make decisions on which new tools, technologies or technical techniques
should be pursued for implementation.

5.     Work with business unit senior leaders to define and document
requirements and obtain formal sign-offs.

6.     Ensure team develops software following corporate standards for, the
design, development, testing, and support of software, systems, and
applications.  Ensure all applications are designed and developed for
stability, scalability, security and maintainability.

7.     Manage a team of LCE developers as well as external resources
located locally or off-shore.  Perform formal regular management functions
such as status meetings, career development and performance reviews.

8.     Identify and communicate dependencies on other departments such as
QA or business units.

9.     Communicate project progress to IT and business leadership.

10.  Ensure team is resolving system issues and responding to suggestions
for improvements appropriately.

11.  Ensure team is providing support for production applications including
on-call afterhours support.

12.  Mentor all team resources to assist them in reaching their career
goals.

13.  Lead continuous improvement efforts.  Seek ways to enhance and improve
the team whether through new technology, new processes or new strategies.
Oversee post-mortems and project debriefs to identify areas of improvement
and implement changes.

14.  Play a lead role in systems evaluation and vendor selection processes
and adherence to service level agreements.

15.  Apply knowledge of LCE’s business operations and direction to projects
and anticipate future needs.



*Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*

1.     Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

2.     Minimum of ten (10) years’ professional experience in a formal
software development lifecycle and deep expertise in multiple technologies
such as:

b.    Microsoft.Net (C# or VB)

c.     Java

d.    Delphi

e.     PHP

f.     HTML5 / JavaScript / CSS4

g.    Mobile development including Android and IOS native applications and
hybrid applications

h.     RPG

i.      Sharepoint

j.      Open-source Javascript libraries

k.     Content management systems such as DNN, Joomla or Drupal

l.      Social media integration tools and platforms

m.   NoSQL Databases

n.     Software Management Tools

o.    Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technologies

3.     Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Manger of technical
engineers with responsibilities for hiring, coaching,
training/cross-training and development and performance management.

4.     Experience with formal project management tools and techniques such
as developing project charters, managing a project plan, tracking progress,
and conducting status checks and meetings.

5.     Experience with a formal release process.

6.     Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to find
creative solutions to solve problems while staying within practice
guidelines.

7.     Self-motivated, curious, creative and passionate about improving
business through technology.

8.     Highly developed written, verbal, and presentation communication
skills that effectively articulates complex technical concepts to a diverse
and, at times, non-technical audience at all levels in the organization
including senior leadership.

9.     Able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast
paced environment.

10.  Excellent organizational, time management, facilitation and
prioritization skill.

11.  Proven ability to identify operational risks and “red flags.”

12.  Expertise of technology trends particularly in the QSR industry.



*Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:*

1.     POS and Stores Systems Experience.



*Working Conditions:*

1.     This position requires ability to work extended hours, including
evenings, weekends and holidays based on project goals.

2.     Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical
discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust and the like.

3.     Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and
printers).

4.     Some travel including travel to restaurant locations and trade
shows.  This position requires the ability to adhere to the LCE Travel
policy.
