I am an absolute C/C++-newbie and have some (maybe silly) questions concerning the SAP DB C/C++-precompiler: Has the precompiler software to be installed on the workstation (client machine) of the developer or on the server machine where the database server is installed? As it should precomple the embedded SQL in the C-code I would guess it should be installed on the client machine but the Installation Guide does not say anything about it. Looking through the Installation Guide for the C/C++ precompiler I read about RPM-packages to be installed. This passage seems to allude to UNIX machines. Is there also a version of the precompiler software for Win32 available? If so where do I get it? Anyway where do I get the UNIX stuff? Is there a difference between a installtion for developers and one for users? It seems to be the same software!?! Thank You in advance!
