I use SapDB without problems with Apache Catalina, JBoss, HP-AS, NetBeans.
In HP-AS, JBoss and Catalina I use their pools/transactions managers.

SAP DB works quite well with various app servers, though it would probably
be BEA's responsibility
to support SAP DB, not the other way around. SAP DB doesn't have its own
transactional or pooled
data source, but I suspect that web logic handles that - I know Orion does.
What are you trying to
do?
