Hi,
I had never been successful with DBMGUI. I am using version 7.3.0.15
(latest?) and I get authentication failure (logon to system failed) at step
1 when I am creating a database on the localhost. On Win 2k, I created a
user "sapdb" with password "sapdb", grant the user the right to log on as a
service and then I tried DBMGUI with no success.
What is your recipe?
Yves

Hi,
I don't know about dbmcli, but the DBMGUI database creation wizard asks you,
once you've entered all parameters, if you want to recreate the database
from a previous backup or create an empty one. I believe you don't even have
to enter the same dev/log devspace sizes as long as theres enough space in
the data devspace for the backup you want to restore.
I've already used that option with a 7.2 SAPDB and it worked just fine.
Regards,
Marco
