My point isnt that I cant install SAP-DB. The problem is that I need it in Debian,
not just the Debian package.

I think you are missing my point. :) I know how to build software and packages. My
question was not 'how do i install SAPDB on Debian'. As a Debian user and Free
Software Developer I think it is important to offer SAP-DB in the Debian Distribution
so that users wishing to maintian a cohesive system with strong packaging can have
that luxury.

A while back I offerred to make Debian packages and someone said they were working on
them, I was hoping that person would respond so that I could lend them a hand or
finish what they started. If I dont hear back from this list I will assume no one is
actively working on this. I will then look to create the packages and have them
uploaded to unstable. In which is anyone here willing to test?

Mark, you guys are running SAP-DB on Debian on the OSDL machines correct?
