The SAPDB documentation states that the Windows registry is used to
store settings, but doesn't say where. I have discovered that
although SAPDB entries are placed in many areas of the registry, the
main areas are:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP

... which includes the database definitions:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\SAP DBTech\Applications\Database
Manager\Databases

... and also an entry for every defined database in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_SAP_DBTECH-*

These last entries are locked, and persist even after the database is
deleted and SAPDB is deinstalled. People (like me) who have
difficulty reinstalling over a problematic SAPDB installation find
themselves stuck with the old problems hidden in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_SAP_DBTECH-xx
x, where xxx is the database name.

Is there a script to completely purge *all* SAPDB registry entries? I
need to perform a clean SAPDB installation on a Windows machine that
had SAPDB installed, but doesn't behave properly.

Mike
