Hi Tryer, We are a long time SAPDB user (over 2 years) and also have seen similar problems under high concurrency. SAPDB will just stall and stick. I suspect it is more with the communications protocol than the kernel, as often firing up another form of client (DBMCLI) will work while other transactions are failing.
Did you get any other replies to your problem? However, I have encountered following technical problems: I attempted to run standard TPC-C tests on SAP DB to evaluate its performance. However, it always failed when the number of transaction thread number is over 200(approximated). Under Linux (Red Hat 8), the number of thread "kernel" of SAP reduces to three and then it is NOT responsive any more to TPC-C tests. However, I can still connect to SAP using the client management tool. Under MS Windows 2000 Server, it stops responding immediately when the thread number exceeds a certain threshold without any change about the thread "kernel". My SAP DB version is 7.4. I am looking forward to your answer. Thank you in advance.
