Hi Andreas,

For the SQL Studio problem it seems that the catalog of the database is not complete.
Please reload the system tables with the DBM GUI.

Regards
Wolfgang

Subject: Connecting with GUI Tools from W2k to SAPDB on Linux fails

Hi,
two problems with Windows GUI Tools:

1. Try to connecting with the Database Manager to a remote database on Linux
fails. Have i missed some prerequisites? If you try to register a database
on a specified IP address, '-4 communication error' will displayed.
Connecting to a local database works fine.

2. Connecting with SQL Studio to a remote database on Linux over ODBC is
possible but after a connection is established, a window with the following
text appears ( SQL Studio does not support the catalog view when connected
to databases prior to 7.3.0) and you can not navigate in the tree view,
cause nothing is displayed. Connections to a local database again, is
working fine. I've downloaded the latest SQL-Studio and ODBC Driver from
sapdb.org. The remote database version is: 7.4.3.27.
The trace window shows the following:
Auto Commit: On, SQL Mode: Internal, Isolation Level: Committed

Base table not found;-4004 POS(28) Message not available:DBPROCEDURES.

SELECT DISTINCT owner FROM domain.dbprocedures WHERE DBPROCNAME LIKE '%'

---- Error -------------------------------

Auto Commit: On, SQL Mode: Internal, Isolation Level: Committed

Base table not found;-4004 POS(28) Message not available:TRIGGERS.

SELECT DISTINCT owner FROM domain.triggers WHERE TRIGGERNAME LIKE '%'

Does anyone has some suggestions for that problems? Thanx in advance!

Andreas Khl
