There were some good ideas in the discussion, so I wanted to summarize a couple of things:
- I think there are already some folks that have started something for their own projects or have some ideas. If you have something and want to put it out there for review, feel free to fork satchmo and add your customizations. If you want me or others to take a look at it and provide feedback, let me know. - There was some mention of Django admin tools - http://bitbucket.org/izi/django-admin-tools/wiki/Home I really do like this project. The look and feel and customization is good. My challenge is that it's a nice way to reorganize the existing models but we may need to do a bit more. So, it's a great start but might not be enough. I'm all for re-use though so if someone has ideas on how best to improve django-admin tools to support more Satchmo-specific needs, we could try to get it integrated. - My view for the basic product creation is that we should make it easy for a store manager to choose a product to create, enter a couple of key items (name, price, description, pic) as well as the attributes and have the interface more seamlessly create them. Maybe even have a "Clone Product" to take a template product and create new ones off of it. Whatever we end up with, we still need to make it easy to modify or extend for custom needs. Once again thanks for the interest and I hope we can get some traction with this. -Chris On Fri, Jul 16, 2010 at 9:24 PM, lzantal <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Chris, > > How would the simpler product creation work?
