Not sure if anyone answered this at all.  I believe this may involve a small 
hack the the product model but in the image field, the upload_to field allows 
you to specify a method that returns a custom path back into which the model 
will be saved.  Checkout docs.djangoproject.com and search for upload_to 
callback.
