I think that since I'm new to Satchmo and the autosuccess payment module is somewhat lacking on documentation, that I overlooked something real simple and I'm posting this here just in case anyone else has the same confusion.
Once an order is created with the autopayment module I see two (2) orders in the Django admin site under Shop | Product Orders. The first has a status of '(None)' and a balance forward == the amount of the order. The second has a status of 'New' and a balance forward == $0.00. I believe this is correct and our external systems simply need to look for orders with a status == 'New'.
