take a look at send_order_confirmation(order,
template='shop/email/order_complete.txt') in
satchmo_store.shop.notification
email notification uses singnals/listeners definded at
satchmo_store.shop.listeners like this:
def start_default_listening():
...
signals.order_success.connect(notification.order_success_listener,
sender=None)
...
