Ricky, read and try the first example in the documentation for signals
under the title "Putting it all together".
For understaniding you should read the whole chapter and also the link
to Django documentation for signals.

Shortly moreover: create a Model (=table) with two columns: who is
recommended by whom, both of type models.ForeignKey
Connect some builtins signals: I guess useful can be:
satchmo_registration, satchmo_order_status_changed, form_postsave
or create an ancestor of a form to be modified and use the modified
one where they fill who reccommended them.
I only guess what I would try first, I do not know.
