Hello Swarooo,
There are some different ways to accomplish discounts into Satchmo. You
should definitively play around with the different settings in your
testing environment.
I will give you one example on your specific question(to have discount
per product):
Go to your admin interface -> Section:Product ->Discounts and create a
new discount (or adjust an existing one.)
+You will have all options there to create a specific discount - in
percentage - or by a given value.
+You will be able to set this discount to ALL products (you are allowed
only to have one of them.)
+Your will be able to set this discount to a product or multiple
products at the bottom of the discount page.
+Create proper start and end-date of this discount.
Hint: Maybe you just start off by doing a test discount on all products
on your testing-server and fine grain afterwards.
So you do not have to do any adjustments on the product pages itself!
After playing around a bit - I am sure you will get it.
One template strategy provided by the satchmo project page:
1) load {% satchmo_discounts %} at top of your template - already done
by default in the standard satchmo repo
2) the template:
{% if sale %}
<div>
<div class="saleprices">
<h3> Regular price: <span class="saleprice" id="price">{{
product.unit_price|currency}}</span></h3>
<h3> {{ sale.percentage_text }} off: <span class="saleprice"
id="sale_saved">{{
product|discount_saved:"sale"|currency }}</span></h3>
<h3> Your price: <span class="saleprice" id="sale_price">{{
product|discount_price:"sale"|currency }}</span></h3>
{% else %}
<h3 id="price">{{product.unit_price|currency}}</h3>
</div>
{% endif %}
or you stick to the default template from the actual bitbucket repo:
<h4>{{ product.translated_name }}</h4>
<p>{{ product.translated_description }}</p>
{% trans "Price" %}{% if default_view_tax %} {% trans '(incl. tax)' %}{% endif
%}: <h3>{% spaceless %}
{% if sale %}<strike style="display: block;" id="fullprice">{{
product|discount_price:""|currency }}</strike>{% endif %}
<span id="price">{{ product|discount_price:sale|currency }}</span>
{% endspaceless %}</h3>
I hope I did not miss any steps.
Kind regards and good luck,
Raphael
