Try this:

    pip install -e --force-reinstall hg+
http://bitbucket.org/chris1610/satchmo/#egg=satchmo

Should blow away the old version. However if you're going to live on the 
tip like that I'd recommend using Mercurial itself and running from source.

    pip install --help
